Being a mother is one of the most important, difficult, and rewarding jobs we will ever have in our lives. From the beginning of life, mothers are always the ones who care for, nurture, and protect the people we love. When our children are young, they have no idea of all the many sacrifices a mother makes over and over again.

Mothers rarely know their own power. Or even use it. Women can forget that the baby they grew inside of them was at one time totally a part of them. Every emotion you felt, every tear, every stress, every moment of laughter and joy… they felt it. When you were happy your baby was happy too. When you worried, your baby worried.

Even after children are born, they have a keen awareness of their mother’s vibes. This means that a smile, words of praise, sharing your belief that everything will work out in their best interest means the world to them, even if they never say so.

As mothers, we want to instill in our children the desire to nurture and care for themselves. Children under the age of five have a hypnotic memory, meaning they remember what they are programmed to know. This is why we don’t remember our own mother changing our diapers or feeding us. This is the ideal age to teach our children the importance of eating well. They won’t remember exactly what you said, but they’ll be more apt to develop healthy habits that will set them up for life. For many of us, our children won’t see what a difference we’ve made in their lives until after they leave home or have a baby of their own.

Long ago, my inspiration to do this work grew out of my desire to get well, so that I could be a better mother to my own children. My mission then evolved into wanting to change the way the world eats. The moms in our community amaze me – the way they lovingly prepare healthy food for their families with the intention to heal, while juggling busy family commitments or hectic work schedules. And yet somehow they make it all work.

I wanted to take a moment to honor, celebrate, and express gratitude for all you do!

Use your power to show others around you how to be healthier, happier, and to work together to create a better world for all of us.
